Fool Her Once Update As Mother Nature Takes Over

When Mother Nature takes over, it’s usually best to stop what you’re doing — and hope she doesn’t cause too much damage.

Everything came to a standstill on the East End of Long Island this weekend when howling winds and a 12-hour blizzard caused snowdrifts of more than 24-inches in certain locations. But, it sure was pretty by the time the sun melted the frost on the glass doors and windows.

Earlier in the day, however, it was almost impossible to see out into the backyard. Below, the view through the iced-up sliding glass door at about 5.30 in the morning.

You worry about the trees and the bushes. And, then you remember, they’ve been through this before, and every Spring you find yourself wondering at how they all bounce back — even from the worst of the Winter.

Can’t wait for Spring now. One major snowstorm per Winter is really more than enough.

Fool Her Once Update

Also by the time Spring comes, my latest thriller, Fool Her Once will have been released. That happens on March 1 — just about a month from now.

Reviews and publicity continue to roll  in. Below, is the front page of a newsletter that goes out to a community of former and current tabloid reporters and editors. It could be perfect marketing considering my female protagonist starts her career as a tabloid reporter whose first scoop has tragic consequences.

Go ahead, click on the above or zoom in/out so you can read the first sentence of this article written by one of my former executive editors, Phil Bunton. (Thank you, Phil!)

Fool Her Once Blog Tour

My Goodreads Giveaway for two advance review copies continues till February 4. You can enter here.

This week, Fool Her Once will also begin a blog tour organized by Partners In Crime Virtual Book Tours. That means that every day, a book blogger will write a review, or publish an interview with me, or a guest post written by me.  You can see the entire monthly schedule of where to find the reviews/interviews/podcast/guest posts for Fool Her Once here.

And, just to end on a snowy theme, below is my photo, taking me back a few years to when I was writing an early draft of Fool Her Once in a blizzard — and during a power outage.

It feels sooo Dickensian — and it’s one of my favorite pix documenting my publication journey.

  1. I love the pics of the snow, and, yes, the picture by candlelight is by far my favorite as well. But I’m sure glad we are in Florida right now! Loved the book! I’m posting my review today!
