Sharing The Love & Rave Reviews From A Great Book Tour

Happy Valentine’s Day to all. It’s a perfect day for sharing some of the love that my new thriller, Fool Her Once, is getting on its virtual book tour organized by Partners In Crime.

So far, 99% of the reviews have been 5-star — and for all the right reasons as far as I’m concerned. Here’s my Instagram post for one of the reviews today:

Another review that likes the twisty narrative, states: “Just when I thought I had the book figured out, something else would happen, and I would realize that I was wrong. I love books that keep me guessing, as this book did. This book had just the right amount of suspense throughout the entire book. The author also did a great job of making all of the characters seem like they were real people.”

The above review was from The World As I See It.

My Antagonist

And, then this one which I’m particularly proud of: “… The murderer on the other side was very sympathetic. There were times that I wanted him to be innocent or at least to escape from everything.”

Comments like the one at nanasbookreviews.wordpress.com validate everything I was working towards. It’s the antagonist I set out to create when I started writing Fool Her Once. I blogged about it back then when the working title for FHO was Payback. And, when my antagonist looked like Matthew McConaughey !!!!

I explain it better in a guest post I wrote recently for the book blog, The Book Diva’s Reads about The Antagonist in psychological thrillers. My guest post explains the challenge of writing an antagonist who has to drive the action of your thriller, but is also a 3-D character with whom readers can empathize.

Guest Posts

On a lighter note, another guest post I wrote for the Partners In Crime virtual tour appeared this week on the book blog, Novels Alive, on the topic of, Write What You Know. That used to be the accepted wisdom decades ago, before Google. I take a look at this advice, and make a confession as to why I didn’t take it.

Call To Action

I’d really, really love to know which guest post you liked/preferred. No need to go into great detail. Just give me a “Like” below — and then, in comments, let me know in one word: Antagonist or Write What You Know.

Please stay posted as I countdown to the launch of Fool Her Once in 15 days, on March 1, 2022.

    1. Happy you agree,Eldon. There’s so many ways to research your subjects and settings these days, you’re just not limited to what you actually know when you start writing a novel.

      1. Besides, back in the day if you could say you knew what it was like to be a serial killer, I’d be a little worried lol

    1. I am enjoying it immensely, Gina. It’s like waking up each morning to find a mystery gift waiting for you. You just hope when you unwrap it, it’s not a lump of coal Lol! Thank you for organizing it!
