Telling A Story In Pictures : Part Two of Fool Her Once

This week, I’m using more of my research photos as backdrops for short excerpts from my thriller, Fool Her Once. Last week, I chose five of the hundreds of photos I took in New York City and on the North Fork to illustrate the first chapters of the book. The photos below capture some scenes from Part Two.

Home to the North Fork

It’s the part where my protagonist, Jenna, returns home to the North Fork of Long Island to deal with her daughter, Dollie who’s been thrown out of summer camp for bad behavior.

At the same time, Jenna continues to search for Denny, the serial killer’s son she outed a couple of decades ago. Jenna fears that Denny has inherited his father’s psychopath gene and is out for revenge. She needs to find him before he can harm her or Dollie.

In Part Two, the reader gets to meet Jenna’s husband, Zack who owns an inn and marina on the North Fork and Dollie, her teenage daughter. Also, Bethany, the culinary school intern who Jenna suspects is having an affair with Zack.

The reader also becomes acquainted with Chief Brad, a smarmy, local police officer who wants to become more friendly with Jenna and Zack.

Denny? Chief Brad? Jenna wouldn’t relish meeting either of these characters alone on a dark night on this remote stretch of the North Fork. And yet…

Towards the end of Part Two, Jenna’s search for Denny leads her briefly to the South Fork, better known as the Hamptons.
